Humans of the Future: Shaping a Culture of Health and Nutrition

18 June , 16:00–17:30 Congress Centre, zone B, 2nd floor, conference hall B4
There doesn’t seem to be any limit to the things biotechnology and nutrition can do nowadays. Modern technology can solve any task, but who should be deciding what those tasks are? Before deciding, we must identify who the people of the future benefiting from these decisions are. Are they consumers looking to maximize pleasure or creative people for whom the result outweighs the discomfort associated with achieving it? The whole situation places biotech businesses before an ethical dilemma: should they make existing products cheaper so they can sell more or focus on the socio-cultural task of the creator? The result is nutrition as a source of intellectual resources and healthy longevity. What fundamental values will the sociocultural code of the people of the future be based upon and what will they have to do with nutrition? How can we organize the educational process to ensure children are learning about sustainable ideas, a culture of health, and proper nutrition? How can a culture of healthy eating influence the education of the people of the future to create a resource for healthy longevity?
