‘Ensuring Drug Security’ Russian Pharmaceutical Forum Release Business Programme Architecture

The ‘Ensuring Drug Security’ Russian Pharmaceutical Forum, the main business event of the pharmaceutical industry, will be held for the second time on the opening day of the 25th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on 15 June 2022. The architecture of the business programme has been posted on the Forum’s official website.

The event is being organized by the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation and the Subcommittee on Drug Circulation and the Development of the Pharmaceutical and Medical Industry of the State Duma’s Committee on Health Protection. The Forum is held annually and is a leading platform for discussions on the business agenda of the pharmaceutical industry.

“In recent years, the pharmaceutical industry has proven its resilience and readiness to withstand economic and foreign policy challenges. In close cooperation with regulators, society, public organizations, and representatives of business, we are developing mechanisms to promptly respond to the changing conditions in order to ensure drug security in all regions of the Russian Federation,” Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko said.

The main themes of the ‘Ensuring Drug Security’ Russian Pharmaceutical Forum in 2022 include: phasing out imports of medicines and medical devices; boosting confidence in Russian medicines; the accessibility of innovative medicines for all types of patients; digitalization in drug supply; the quality, efficacy, and safety of medicines; as well as prospects for the development of the pharmaceutical market in Russia. The plenary session of the Forum is ‘Drug Security: The Principle of Humanity at the Heart of Cooperation’.

“Today, the ‘Ensuring Drug Security’ Russian Pharmaceutical Forum is essentially the only major business event in the pharmaceutical industry. This is another indicator that the country can only rely on its own strengths and internal resources when it comes to such serious issues as ensuring its drug security, and we are dealing with this successfully,” said Alexander Petrov, a member of the State Duma’s Committee on Health Protection.
