Drug Security Forum Releases Expanded Programme

The Drug Security Forum’s official website has posted an expanded business programme of the event with key speakers in expert discussions. The Forum will take place on 2 June on the opening day of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum and will be supported by the Russian Ministry of Health and the Subcommittee on the Circulation of Medicines and the Development of the Pharmaceutical and Medical Industry of the Russian State Duma Committee on Health Protection. The event is being organized by the Roscongress Foundation and the Content Foundation for the Development of Expert and Analytical Activities. The theme of the Forum is ‘Science and Technology for Health’.

The expert discussions will be attended by representatives of Russia’s Federation Council, State Duma, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing, and Federal Medical-Biological Agency, the World Health Organization, the United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF), the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA), and other Russian and international agencies and organizations.

The Forum’s business programme sessions cover a wide range of issues related to the pharmaceutical industry and ensuring the country’s drug security. Experts will discuss the evolution of the public procurement system for medicines, the development of digital technologies in medical care, tools to expand people’s access to modern innovative medicines, and other relevant topics. A separate session of the business programme will be devoted to development trends on the global pharmaceutical market and changes that the COVID-19 pandemic has made to its trajectory.
